Just about everybody enjoys an adventure. Travel tips can benefit you to ensure that your adventure will not be a failure, or a calamity. Here are a few adventure travel tips from persons who are experienced travelers. Prior to your travel, it's a good idea to study the country where your adventure tour will begin. Is there something about the political circumstances in the country that you ought to be aware of? Do you need a passport to enter the country? Perhaps it would be a practical idea to get the phone number of your country's embassy or consulate, just in case of an emergency. Are you insured medically? This is one of the most important adventure travel tips that you have to be mindful of, because illnesses and accidents do happen. In other countries, especially in the Third World, medical care is not accessible unless you can pay for it. You could be cared for at a hospital, and will not be discharged until the bill is covered. This type of thing is common in some other countries. Make sure that you know what exactly your current health care policy covers. Does the insurance company pay up front, or do you have to pay and then get reimbursed later? If it is at all doable, be sure you have funds available to handle an emergency. When you are about to travel, be conscious of security instructions that are now required for air travel. Don't carry anything on your body or in your carry-on that could be confiscated at the airport. When you are inside the plane, pay attention to instructions about filling in the visa documents for the country you are entering. If you fail to fill out the document on the plane, you could be fined for completing one on arrival at the airport. It is also a good idea to have some US coins readily available for tipping when you pass through the airport. More experienced voyagers will tell other adventure travelers to appreciate the fact that they are in a strange place, which more than likely has different customs, separate rules and a alternative legal system. Obey their laws, be affable and use common sense at all times. Don't use drugs of any kind and if you are taking any medication make sure that you carry authorized documentation from your medical practitioner. Never drink tap water, particularly overseas. Many foreign places do not have a clean water service, potable drinking water should be bought from a water filtration service point or from bottled supplies, sold at stores and hotels. Do not use tap water for washing your mouth or preparing foods, as the bacteria contained in tap water in some overseas places is so high that even the slightest amount can make people very ill. Lastly, just a couple of crucial points to consider. Protect your identity by keeping your personal papers and travel documents with you. Be wary of hawkers, peddlers and those who are touting for services. If you must go out at night, go with a group and keep out of dark places. By following these useful adventure travel tips you will be pleased with your holiday and arrive home safely. |
