|
Sensitive skin, is described as skin that is unable to tolerate any harsh environmental conditions, is easily damaged, and gets quickly chafed when it comes into contact with certain materials, including many skin care goods. On account of this, some products are especially branded as sensitive skin care products. The degree of sensitivity can however differ from person to person, and sensitive skincare solutions are also designed for unique cases of sensitivity. Sensitive skin, care can be divided into a few primary categories. Generally, all skin types react negatively to detergents and other chemical based products. However, the damage generally begins beyond a definite threshold or tolerance level. This tolerance level is greatly reduced for sensitive skin types, leading to skin getting damaged very easily. Sensitive skincare treatments will only have products that do not have potential allergens, or keep them at an extremely low level of concentration. A few tips for sensitive skincare are, to use sensitive skincare solutions that are specially formulated for use on sensitive skin only. Also, see the labels on the product to see if there are any specific restrictions on the use of the product. Even within the scope of sensitive skin care products, opt for the one that has a minimum of preservatives, colorings and other additives. Do not apply toners, as many of them are alcohol based and are not prescribed for sensitive skin. At all times use protective gloves when doing the laundry or cleaning with harsh chemicals. If you are allergic to rubber, you can wear cotton gloves under the rubber ones. Another essential tip for sensitive skincare is to avoid exposure to the afternoon sun. Avoiding exposure to dust and other pollutants is also necessary for sensitive skin care, so cover yourself sufficiently before venturing out. You would be well advised to choose hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic moisturizer as a sensitive skin care solution, if there isn't any optional product that is identified as a sensitive skincare solution. Select alcohol free cleansers, to cleanse your face whenever you return from spending time outdoors. Do not scrub or exfoliate too roughly, as it can cause irritation and even inflammation. Don't leave your makeup on for extended periods, and use hypoallergenic makeup removers to thoroughly remove all cosmetic traces. Finally, sensitive skincare is not the same as caring for normal skin, as sensitive skin care is also about taking extra care of your skin, both in terms of the preparations you are using and the protection you have against climatic damage to your skin. |
