In this difficult economic period, my wife and I are doing everything possible to trim costs. For that reason, we've been cutting down on high-priced foods - regrettably including steaks, our favorite one from the grill. We short listed our selections to a GE at Sears and a Whirlpool at Fry's according to selection and price and headed out to the outlets to check them out. There we found that the GE was only coming in a right-hand door configuration and we wanted left. Then, while looking for the Whirlpool we found that the amount of beef we were thinking about wasn't going to be easy to store into the available space without some falling out while we opened the door. So in the end we made up our mind not to purchase. The available models didn't quite seem to fulfill our needs. Only two days later, our neighborhood newsletter came and one of our neighbors had a stand up freezer for sale! We checked it out and noticed it opened to the left. Additionally, our neighbor said that he'd been using it for the same purpose we expected and had arranged elastic nets inside to prevent things from falling out! The freezer was certainly not in "new" state - beaten up and even a showing some corrosion on some of the outside edges. But then, he only asked $50 for it so we had an agreement. And a couple weeks later we sold our old fridge for $50, so it ended up costing us nothing! We now have a freezer packed with cheap meat. Nevertheless, I don't have an extra stock of cold beer.
