Microwaves in America and the world have made life less difficult for mankind when preparing meals or warming up food or drinks. Microwaves have an interesting history from the first one constructed to the way it was invented. The first microwave that was officially mentioned using the term microwave was in 1931 when it was referred to in The Telegraph and Telephone Journal. The inventor Louis J. Jenn has a memorial park in Indianapolis, Indiana. Maytag bought Jenn-Air in the early 1980s and they are currently owned by Whirlpool corporation as of 2006. Jenn Air even now makes microwaves, but now the type that are built into the walls and countertops are what they specialize in. One of the present day models being distributed is the 30 inch over the range Jenn Air microwave convection oven. Convection means that it is a microwave that works as a regular microwave and also keeps going as an oven type that cooks food with the speed of a microwave heating device but the food comes out browned like it would out of a regular oven. Jenn Air also offers 24 and 27 inch microwave heating devices. The 30 inch Jenn Air microwave oven is available in 5 colors. The 24 inch is an under counter model with a drawer design. These are not the inexpensive microwaves you will see at a Walmart etc, but these are quality microwave heating devices that last a lot longer and are made with better parts.
